Lot number (consignment number)

A Lot number (Consignment number) is a unique number assigned to a lot, to enable following the specific lot through every step of processing and trade.

A lot number follows the lot until the product undergoes further processing, and therby is assigned a new lot number, or until the lot is sold. When dividing a lot, new lot numbers are also assigned to each new lot.

NB! A lot number is NOT the same as a SKU code.
