GS1

GS1 is a non-profit standardization organization, who’s main purpose is to implement standards for trade, and support standardization of:

• Exchanging master data, orders and invoices
• Barcodes
• Traceability of products and transportation

It is possible to subscribe to standard barcodes for multiple purposes, e.g. GTIN-13 used for end products in retail.
