COI is the abbreviation for Certificate Of Inspection (for import of organic products) which must accompany organic goods when imported into the EU from third countries (countries outside the EU).
The purpose is, among other things, to improve traceability of organic, imported products and reduce the risk of fraud.
COI is an electronic certificate created and issued by the European Commission’s database for trade, import and export of certain foods, TRACES.
